...MUCH COLDER AIR FOR SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI AND SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA SUNDAY MORNING... A strong cold front is moving through southern Mississippi and southeast Louisiana late this afternoon. Much colder air is moving into the area in the wake of the front. Temperatures that were near 70 earlier in the day have already fallen into the lower 40s northwest of McComb and Baton Rouge. This much colder air will continue to move across the area overnight on strong northwest winds. Overnight lows tonight will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s north and west of Lake Pontchartrain and over southern Mississippi. Readings in the mid 30s are expected to south of the lake. Combined with the gusty northwest winds, this will produce wind chill values in the upper teens across southwest Mississippi, and in the 20s across the remainder of the area Sunday morning. High temperatures on Sunday will struggle to get out of the 40s. People participating in outdoor activities tonight and Sunday should be prepared for the much colder weather and dress accordingly.
